VISION 2025 – Part 1

January 5, 2025

Where there is no vision, the people perish…

Proverbs 28:18a

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained,
But happy is one who keeps the Law.

Proverbs 29:18 NASB

2 Then the Lord answered me and said,
“Write down the vision
And inscribe it clearly on tablets,
So that one who reads it may run.
3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
It hurries toward the goal and it will not fail.
Though it delays, wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it will not delay long.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 NASB

Vision Principles:

     1. Can it be documented (v. 2)?

     2. Is it easy to understand (v. 2)?

…if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?

     1 Corinthians 14:8

     3. Is it shareable and transferable (v. 2)?

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to

     teach others.

     2 Timothy 2:2

     4. Does it motivate others toward a common future goal (v. 3)?

Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

     John 4:35

     5. Is it worth waiting for (v. 3)?

     6. Does it take faith? Will it grow my trust in God (v. 3)?

For it is God who at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

     Philippians 2:13

The testing of your faith produces endurance.

     James 1:3

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:18-20

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5

No one comes to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.

John 6:44

(God) has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

Luke 19:10

3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?”

Luke 15:3-4

8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Luke 15:8-10

20“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

Luke 15:20-24
